5. Eco-Kids

Sadly, a lot of art supplies made for children can contain hidden toxic ingredients. One study of 10 different store-bought face paints found that all of them contained lead. That’s why we make our own homemade face paint.

Additionally, some store-bought playdough contains borax. While this is a natural mineral, it’s also a pesticide that makes an incredibly effective ant killer. That’s why I choose not to use borax when I make my homemade dishwasher detergent and why we make our own homemade playdough.

For art supplies we can’t make at home, we buy eco-kids. Eco-kids makes a fantastic variety of all-natural and non-toxic art supplies. Here are some of the best options that kids will love:

You can also give the Arts and Crafts Busy Box, which contains an origami kit, eco-dough, natural beeswax candle-making kit, and beeswax crayon sticks.

My brother would like to buy a Bamboo dinner set for his Godson since this is a practical and eco-friendly present. Anyhow, I also agree with you that a Doctor's kit would be a great and educational gift too. I'll keep in mind to tell him that he may give him wooden fruits and vegetables as well.

As an eco-conscious parent, you are ready to teach them about the importance of recycling; on how to take care of the toys. And also about the lifecycle of a toy including what to do once they no longer serve the educational needs of your kid. And why we should buy new products every time? In my opinion, if a second hand ting is in good shape, it is better to buy this instade to a new one. It's cheaper and more ecofriendly. I thing it's impossible that everybody will think like this, so you will always have a chance to buy a used thing. If your kid wants new game, music, movie, book, why not to buy it virtual? Always you can make something by yourself. For example chess - your kid have bunch of old action figures? Make chess board with something you have in your house, like old blankets in different collors and use those action figures as pawns! In adition you can give an e-book on how to play chess. I'm not saying that it is wrong to giving a new, shiny objects, at all, but your kid don't need it every time.
